Well there is certainly a sense of Déjà-vu isn't there? So we all find ourselves in another national lockdown and this one is certainly feeling more difficult than the others. It once again brings with it the decision of whether we stay open or whether we close for a period of time. This time, like with the first lockdown, we have felt that the safest thing for our team and also for the local community is to be closed. It is, of course, a heartbreaking decision for our staff who are desperate to be working, doing what they love, but as a team have decided unanimously that this is the right course of action for us at the moment.

The team have decided that 3 measures would need to be met before we would be able to reopen, even for takeaway. They are:

                1. Vaccine to have been delivered to all group 1 & 2 which is all over 70s and health care workers.

              2. BIG drop in new daily cases, and the pressure on the local ICU's to be significantly reduced.

              3. An increased sense of it being safe to be out once again, and a growing appetite in the community to be out.

I am immensely proud of the staff for their considered and careful approach in this time, and how they take their responsibility to one another's and the community's safety seriously.

All of that said, the team are exploring ways which we can bring a little bit of Make & Brew magic to you until we get to a point where we feel these measures have been met. We will keep you updated via social media on any of these ideas.

Most importantly, stay safe and know how much we are missing you all! We have the best customers in the world and we cannot wait to get back to serving you as soon as it is safe to do so.

Kirsty and the Make & Brew team!
